Gay Outlaw's work has never been constrained by any attachment to a particular material - rather, her attachment to one particular color of vinyl, or the repeating pattern of convoluted foam, will assert itself sufficiently to propel her through the realization of a piece or series.
Gay has brought several projects to the studio knowing how to explain what she wants, and trusting Jeff to render the components in glass. Some projects have meant producing automated molds for blown parts, while others were produced in kilns by slumping hand-rolled sheet glass onto forms that Gay made in her own studio.
Gay Outlaw is actively represented by Gallery Paule Anglim in San Francisco and by Todd Hosfelt Gallery in San Francisco and New York.
